Service Description

Suitable for skaters aged 8 years to adults who have completed Learn to Skate Level 4, and who compete in SkateNSW artistic Free Skating competition. SkateNSW offers 'Rising Stars' competition as an accessible way for skaters who have completed the Learn to Skate ('SkateStars') program to commence their competitive pathway in the sport. It is designed as a Development Stream (or entry level) for participation and is divided into five levels for Free Skating. Each level requires participants to attempt a set number of skills. Level 1 - Two-foot spin - Waltz jump - Forward footwork sequence with clear O and I edges, chasses, swings and baseline - IB upright spin - Forward cross strokes (both directions) - Mid space body movement Level 2 - IF upright spin - Toe Loop jump - Forward footwork sequence with cross rolls, swings and chasses - IB upright spin - half forward/half backward cross strokes (reverse skating direction) - Low space body movement Please note: 1. Skaters may compete in one Rising Stars event as CAT 4 RECREATIONAL members before upgrading to CAT 3 DEVELOPMENT membership. 2. All Rising Stars grades will be open aged. 3. There are no proficiency test requirements for Rising Stars. COSTS: Lessons: Term fee $185 incl.GST (9 lessons - please see the schedule on 'Registration and Schedule' page) Additionally, SkateNSW Membership (CAT4) is MANDATORY for insurance purposes: $44/calendar year (please see instructions on 'Our Classes' page)
