Service Description
Suitable for beginning skaters of advanced ability aged 4 to 12 years. Our classes are based on the Skate Australia SkateStars curriculum which contains four levels of progressive skill development. Skaters in this class will be taught elements in Level 3 and 4 of the course. See course structure below: Skate Australia SkateStars Course Structure: Level 3 Edging Backwards stroking Arabesque/spiral Spread eagle Forward cross rolls Footwork - hopping Forward cross overs in Figure 8 Change of direction Level 4 Edging backwards Backwards strike off and glide Mohawk turns (change of direction from forwards to backwards/backwards to forwards from one skate to the other One-foot turns Backward cross pulls Footwork - toe and heel glides Backward low space movements Two-foot spin Learning to roller skate is a fun and safe activity that can lead to skaters enjoying the sport recreationally, or developing their skills to a point where they can be competitive in a variety of roller sports - from artistic skating to roller hockey and speed skating, or roller derby. As you progress in confidence and ability, we will support you in progressing to the exciting and athletic discipline of artistic roller skating. COSTS: Lessons: Term fee $185 incl.GST (9 lessons - please see the schedule on 'Registration and Schedule' page) Additionally, SkateNSW Membership (CAT4) is MANDATORY for insurance purposes: $44/calendar year (please see instructions on 'Our Classes' page)
